So, it’s now easier for grossly overweight people to take Xenical in an effort to shed excess pounds. Maybe the Government could also start making it easier for kids to develop healthy eating habits, so they’re less likely to need to lose weight later in life? By, for example, not just handing out a few apples in a few schools as an election year photo op, but by stopping schools from selling high-fat, high-sugar junk food. Auckland’s Oranga School already has a water-only policy. Why not make the policy a nationwide one?
Well, I have a possible answer to that last question. Maybe Labour knows that schools are so underfunded that they have to resort to sponsorship from junk food companies… Maybe they reckon it’s better to endanger kids’ health than fund schools adequately? Yeah, that makes sense.
