Send me your rural or urban consent abuse photos!

Since Russel’s post today, it has occurred to me that I might want more photographic evidence of the abuse of our rivers and streams. This might inspire MfE’s Mighty Mallard to actually follow through on his promise to get tough on consent abuse, be it rural or urban.

If you’ve got photos, send them to frogblog [at] greens dot org dot nz. If you’ve got video to share, post it on your favourite site like youtube and email me the link. I’d be happy to share your [mis]adventures!

I’ve got some beauties but they may be a bit old. i took them after the dairy factory i worked at received an environmental award in early 80’s. they show the bank and river running red with the sunset yellow from wash down after turning the rotting cheese into cheese powder for chesels, the plumes of powder exhausting above the factory drier, backed by the thick black smoke from the newly installed wood chip burning boiler. unfortunately the box brownie pics are a little hard to post.
    cheers

People should note that what may be acceptable according to a farmers consent could look like abuse to somebody driving past in their car.

We farmers operate under several laws and guidelines (which tend to be tougher but not enforceable) as well as peer pressure and personal pride in many districts.

Perhaps Frog could post any answers to this request as environmental abuse rather than consent which implies lawbreaking which may not be the case.

shorty - point taken. Anything that comes in would have to be taken as generalised abuse rather than a consent issue. That sort of hyperbole would be a lightning rod for litigation!
