The Solicitor General has just announced that David Bain will face a retrial for the murder of his family.

This follows the Privy Council ruling last month there had been a substantial miscarriage of justice.

The right decision has been made, I have no doubt that Bain will be found guilty again and sent back to prison for what I hope will be a very long time.
Anybody who executed five of their family members never deserves to see the light of day again.

    Stuey

Is it really that hard for you to understand why so many people feel that Bain is guilty?

I have not read or heard anything that would make me change my mind, most of the theories put forward by Karem and the Bainiacs fall just short of accusing little green men of killing the Bain family.

He has been found guilty twice and I see no reason why he will not be found guilty a third time.

idiots like big bro/troll should take note of the fact..

..that since the retrial has been called..

any opinions on evidence..or guilt or not..

    are clear contempt of court..

(i would advise frog to delete b.b.’s comments..)

and for b.b/troll to shut the feck up..)

I’m not a lawyer but maybe phil is right?

[The Solicitor-General] warned journalists to be careful in the way they now covered the case.

After Bain was released on bail, there had been public discussion of the merits of the Crown and defence cases, he said.

This was no longer appropriate now the decision to continue with the prosecution had been made, he said.

I’m not sure about David Bain, but I doubt that Peter Ellis was guilty, (though somehow I suspect the Frogs would think he is).

    Stuey - Phil is wrong.

There are things that can be said that would be contempt. People should be careful so that they don’t prejudice Bain’s right to a fair trial.

“any opinions on evidence, or guilt or not, are clear contempt of court..”

The law is rarely as clear cut a Phil suggests.

There has been a lot of analysis of the case at Kiwiblog.

I was interested to read that Richard John Seddon was a___?(lay lawyer)… Not a bad idea. In some ways when lawyers get involved another crime is committed____(over charging) .
