Fast Food Nation - the movie
Eric Schlosser’s best-selling polemic Fast Food Nation, which examines the global effects of the fast food industry in the United States, has been made into a movie which premiered at Cannes last month. Interestingly, the filmmakers have chosen to make it a “fictionalised” thriller, rather than a documentary, which would perhaps seem the most logical genre for the material.
Perhaps because of this strange decision, the imdb only gives the film 5.5 out of 10, but so far it has only received 79 votes. You can see a trailer for the film here, and read an excerpt from the book here. You can also watch the first head to head encounter between Schlosser and McDonalds here, in an interview (in three parts) conducted by the UK’s News Night programme. It’s interesting to see how the McDonalds representative responds to questions about marketing to children and about the welfare of chickens used in the production of McDonalds food.

You should probably note that 50% of the votes at imdb are for 10/10. 5.5 is only the site’s approximation of what people think.
