“Good losers”
Bouquet and brickbats for the Greens from the Sunday Star-Times’ Helen Bain today. In Class of 2005 - the winners, the losers we feature in both columns:
WINNERS
10 THE GREENS. They got cheated out of government again, so could technically be categorised as losers. But by being such good losers, they are winners (some might say martyrs).
[snip]
LOSERS
9 NZ FIRST’S BILLBOARDS of Winston Peters on the beach. Dubbed the “poo on the shoe” billboards. Dishonourable mention also to the Greens’ cluttered billboards that no one could read.
Down the page, the ‘OFF the record’ column (offline) features the Nandor chair that I pointed to a few weeks back.
Elsewhere, Bain says of the Greens’ Xmas card-of-sorts:
The card, which shows the Green MPs leaving the Beehive to go on holiday is, fittingly, printed on recycled card and is the most interesting of those from our parliamentarians.

Rod is easy to spot. Nandor is obviously the one on the motor bike (no helment I notice - shame on you Mike!) though a skateboard may have been more appropriate. I assume Keith, as the only other bloke, is the one on the bicycle, but who are the others? None of them are easily identifiable. There are also 5 women, when there should be only 4.

Meyt is above and to the left of Keith (at least on the postcard). Keith is wearing a peace cap on a bicycle. Then Jeanette, Sue B, Sue K and Nandor left to right (again, at least on the postcard). Rod is of course easy to spot, blowing in the trade winds above.
The other stray arms and figures are just artistic licence. Hmmm can you lose an artistic licence….? (A random comment rather than a thought about the postcard I hasten to add
)
