Answering your questions
By the way, if any frogblog readers have questions you’d like me to put any of our MPs in future audioblogs, feel free to post them in the comments thread here. Would be great if you’d do some of my thinking for me ![]()

Please have Metiria talk about a constitution and entrenching a Bill of Rights to protect citizens from government excesses. At a town hall in Dunedin not too long ago, she said the Greens would support an entrenched Bill of Rights. National’s Brownlee said they would oppose it.
I thought that town hall was very interesting, and I was heartened that my party was on the right side of the debate.
Thanks.

I’d like to hear from Rod, about electoral reform. Here in palmerston north our currant mayor was elected on something like 27% of the vote. Also would he support the implimenting of stv for electorate seats, and for party vote before it reaches 5%.
Does he support the idea that voting should be compulsery?
(I think it shouldn’t but votes not cast should somehow be registered as vote of no confidence)

Per other comments, any qualified MP to give us an indication of the actual rates and impact of the Greens tax policy, were it to be introduced in earnest.
Also, any qualified MP to open a dialog with respect to a defense policy. Yeah, we DO need one, even it if seems distasteful.
Next up is a comment. Being Green doesn’t mean being tolerant of violent criminals in our midst. I know we have a social justice agenda, but the brutal fact is that people are not perfect… and some of them need to be locked away from society or some of us will die. I am not that tolerant Frog. Vengeance is the rock on which the principles of justice are founded. It is important for it to be EQUAL justice for all, not just those who can afford a lawyer, but it is important that it be served or the people you are counting on will elect a real fascist to take the streets back for them. Personal safety comes second only to safety of my children… after those things are secured I will entertain motions for leniency with people who are not serious violent threats.
respectfully
BJ
