The GE-free movement in Parliament seems to be growing. I was very happy to read the comments of Labour’s Damien O’Connor in November’s NZ Dairy Exporter.
I was interviewed by the magazine about the GE milk in New Zealand, I emphasised our position that we need to protect our clean green image and our $10 billion dairy export brand.
Damien O’Connor was quoted as saying “non-GM producers must be able to maintain GM-free production and identify their products as such,” and “we must ensure New Zealand’s credibility as a market supplier of high quality, GM-free products in a world that is increasingly demanding such products.”
Hear, hear Damien!
