   MPs will presumably have the use of the BMWs shortly is there a pool of bikes as well? Perhaps the the New Zealand manufacturer, Avanti, can help. If the London and Wellington mayors use bikes, and a number of our MPs are keen cyclists, I would have thought this would be a very practical option.

   I can see those MPs using bikes sitting smugly at meetings (having arrived early) and waiting for their BMW chauffeured colleagues who sit trapped in traffic.
