Do plants communicate? Certainly they do, if ‘communicate’ means share information. Using various medium, plants can spread the word that they are ripe, poisonous, ill or willing to be visited by pollinators, through the use of scent, colour and pattern. If, like me, you can ’let the pond water settle’, and take a slow and deliberate look at the plants in your world, you’ll begin to get their message too.
This expressive little pea tendril’s clearly telling us something.
