Hey Folks
There is a Save ACC rally at Parliament on 16 February to fight back against National’s cutbacks. The good people at the CTU have got these ads running at the Sevens:

Have to say they don’t do much for me. Probably go down well with a rugby crowd though, so horses for courses I guess.

Ok, so the Borat costume is easy to hire from Costume Cave; but I agree with Toad, I’d probably have scripted that differently …

You’d be surprised how difficult it is to hire a mankini in this town – Sevens notwithstanding ;^) And no, the ads aren’t preaching to the converted but trying to reach a bunch of fans enjoying their day out at the Fancy Dress Tournament (with rugby comp attached). Thanks for watching though.

I like ‘em. Simple but hopefully effective.

ACC could have saved a fair bit of money themselves by prudent management. Now it’s being done for them.

I will add that I don’t blame the management entirely for the huge over-runs, as they have to implement flawed policy.
However, they don’t need to spend cash on advertising how wonderful they are, and how many anniversaries they’ve had. It’s a govt monopoly. We don’t need pointless information.
We also need better monitoring and assessment processes. They themselves either have to implement such things, or lobby the govt for law changes when appropriate. Under Labour, they appeared to do no such thing, or Labour is even more culpable than I thought, and some sunlight needs to be shone very hard on them by the next election.
