Well, we’ve done it again. I have just learned from my source at the Copenhagen Climate Summit, (COP15), that New Zealand has won yet another Fossil of the Day Award.
New Zealand won for statements yesterday by Prime Minister John Key: ‘I am not focussed on increasing New Zealand’s target. What I am focussed on is going to Copenhagen and making sure that New Zealand can successfully negotiate the conditions that we think are important in order for us to achieve a target of 10 to 20 percent. If we do not negotaiate those conditions, we will not be able to achieve a target of 10 to 20 percent and we would have a lower target. If New Zealand were to achieve atarget of 10 percent less, that would be a significant milestone’.
I thought John was ambitious for New Zealand. Perhaps he is just ambitious for fossil fuels, as he can now add a considerable cup of coal to our growing pile of Fossil of the Day Awards.

They lost their credibility when they admitted to exaggerating all their claims so they would have a greater impact.
Hmm, maybe a few others have tried that as well.
Anyway it is far too early for you to be on the computer. Get back to the garden you lazy sod.

Ah! The ‘National Party Method for Passing Dishonest Legislation’ – I see you’ve seen through their ploys, finally! This is encouraging.
As to the garden, it’s raining this morning, but I’m off to fly the Farmer’s Market banner and man the coffee machine – there’s nothing quite like mixing it with the local growers and buyers. I was out, you’ll be pleased to know, sowing oats yesterday, so this warm rain is just what I wanted (as opposed to the hard rain that’s a’comin’
