At lunch today I was on the lawn outside enjoying the sunshine, playing some frisbee, when I noticed a small group of suits standing on the steps.

Curious, I wandered over and had a closer look…
Hmm some old guy ranting about how climate change is a hoax! Ok… But who are the suits he’s with??
Oh look, it’s Rodney Hide and his sidekicks! Surprise! And hmm, the Kiwi Party, aye?? They must have grown tired of just promoting smacking. Heh… as if the far right needs it’s vote split any further…
So, two or three guys and the ACT party. Ouch. They held my interest long enough for me to take these photos, then frisbee beckoned. 15 minutes later, as we were heading back into work a guy from Signon “almost” got one of the ACT folk to sign on, which was humorous. Only mild physical coercion was involved.
Do you think the climate change march on Dec 5th will be bigger? Just a small chance of it, surely??

Kiwi, not iwi, unlimited dominion over the environment of the Earth and the disciplining of children.
Goes with creation science and the advent of a man as god dictatorship like bacon and eggs.

Firstly, even if AGW is totally wrong, increasing CO2 levels due to burning fossil fuels is causing ocean acidifaction, putting all the world’s ocean fisheries at risk.
Secondly, the ETS is primarily a method to meet our Kyoto oblogations. Unless we renege on Kyoto totally, we will have to either reduce our CO2 emissions or pay up.
If we had a decent ETS and the government supported other CO2 reduction measures, then we could make a good profit selling genuine carbon credits. They don’t need to believe in AGW at all, providing enough other governments continue to support Kyoto.
And of course, many of the measures that would reduce our CO2 emissions would also reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and put us in a better position to cope with peak oil, peak coal, etc.
Trevor.

Apart from his climate change denial, which puts him in the Wishart and Whale league, Roger Douglas is the Act spokesperson on Education.
Goodo! Shit happens.
