This is incredible. Have a look at all the events that are happening all over the world for the climate change day of action this Saturday!
Below is what’s going on in our neck of the woods. Use the zooming stuff (or just click on the orange circles) to find your area. Watch out, the location of the large orange circles are approximate only.
There are 25+ in Wellington, 33 in Auckland and 22 in Dunedin(!). Something for everyone!
Well done 350, you’ve created a monster. Let’s hear it roar on Saturday
Head over to http://www.350.org/ to find out more about the day of action, how you can go to an event, or register your own event, and how it will make a difference. Check out http://www.350.org.nz also.
I have no idea which events I’ll go to yet. At the very least, the Climate Action Festival at waitangi park. What about you?

Hey climate action people! If you want to do a bit more than build a sandcastle today, how about pitching a tent well down the beach and have the incoming tide create some dramatic tension. We are putting up a big old canvas 10×10 and breaking out the deck chairs. No doubt there will be some who will think us stupid canutes…

All the chips will be down at the Climate Action Festival…
If you see a muddle aged, harried looking fellow in a JPL hat and chasing kids, the Babushka and the wife all over the place… that’ll be me. At least I think it will… sometimes I am not sure.
Everyone be sure to have fun.
Aside:
Something seems to have happened to the MPs on the parliament lawn event. Which sort of makes sense. Wouldn’t want to keep them from going to the festival

Yep. I don’t bother with the mainstream media any more. Rather than informing me it just distracts me from real news.

Our team made page 2 of the Southland Times with a big photo of our tent succumbing to the waves! In my naivety, I thought every 350 event was to involve building sandcastles on a beach, to show the effects of climate change on coastal communities.
Must pay more attention
It was a great concept though, plenty of drama and people getting wet.
Well done the organiser of the Southland event, (he’s an occasional contributor to Frogblog btw, a bioneering kinda guy!).
