In Australia’s Capital Territory the Green Party has just 15 percent of the vote and 3 of the territory’s 17 seats and with those seats the balance of power – the Liberals and Labor are likely to hold seven seats each. All of which led The Australian to write:
Labor is struggling in a rising Green tide around the nation, with the minor party now laying claim to being a mainstream player after ousting the ALP from majority government in the ACT.

Congratulations to all the hardworking Greens in Canberra! I was staying with a Green friend last year during their national elections and her Saturday (with me tagging along) saw her on a Women’s Peace stall at a community market in the morning and handing out Green leaflets to voters (they are allowed to do that there!) in the afternoon.
