It turns out our toad is a bit of a Ralph Steadman! For those who want some historical background the National Development Act 1979 was Muldoon’s effort to speed up development projects in the ‘national interest’. It was a key part of Think Big and the Clyde Dam. It was also a great way of brushing aside local community and environmental concerns to allow big energy projects to go ahead.
All of which seems to be the type of regime change Gerry Brownlee is signalling when he says he’ll reform the Resource Management Act.

Cool comment over at g.blog too – that National’s will “fix” the RMA like you “fix” a tomcat.
I think we can do without the cartoon of that one though.

Perhaps Parliamentary services could ‘fix’ Gerry & leave the Tom cat alone, at least tom cats don’t scream in the house! Protect the gene pool!
Now I can think of a good cartoon.
