Ecorazzi is back with the best environmental gossip about Paris Hilton. This time they have a snap of her in a ‘save the trees’ tee-shirt:

You should be ashamed to even have a picture of that whatever-she-is on this website!

Is the bottle blond lady in the photo a stick insect? Tree huggers destroy forests just look at the sad state of the West Coast forests since the “feral inbreds” stopped selective Native logging. I give credit where credit is due, tree huggers hinder progress and healthy forests.

dad4justice – yeah, it’s pretty amazing that despite the millions of years trees have been living on this planet (longer than us, mind you!) they still can’t sort themselves out without us managing them!

Moronic hypercritical tree huggers stopped Timberlands West Coast Native logging then imported Asian clear felled Natives to deck out that gin palace they call the Beehive. What about the West Coast economy? oh that’s right Miss Clark said they are “feral inbreds”. Labour plus green = insult to South Islands West Coast. Mr O’Connor should be home.

What about the economy? They got a MASSIVE payout, almost as much as Ngai Tahu got for compensation for pinching the entire South Island (and with none of the ‘greedy maari’s’ bullshit). And what happened to that money? You talk to anyone on the West Coast about how much of that money actually got invested in the community and into sustainable employment solutions for those who had to be reskilled. I don’t think you’ll find it was as much as should’ve got there.
Despite this the sustainable tourism industry is thriving. As some of the former loggers told me, they’re getting paid more now to show tourists trees than they were cutting them down. And they sit pretty damn comfortable with that.
Dunno if you’ve been down there ever dad4justice, but last time I did the economy was going off AND the landscape was stunning.
