Sue Kedgley has just put up this video of a conversation she had with one of my favourite food writers, Michael Pollan, author of In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto.

For some reason none of the videos over the last few days will work on my machine. They always have before !

I’m one of the lucky ones, I live on a farm with my husband and have the ability to have a garden and grow my own vegetables. We’ve started selling cantaloupes, watermelons, tomatoes and onions just this past season for about 6 weeks and will also sell them next year. Being from a small southern town there are a good many of us around here that still do have gardens. Even though you think the grocery stores are high, growing your own vegetables are costly.

There’s another really good talk from Pollan over at TED (http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/214) where he goes a bit deeper into re-thinking our approach to food production.
