Here is the first question to be asked in Parliament this afternoon.
Keith Locke to the Prime Minister:
‘Will she ensure journalists travelling with her, as part of the delegation she is leading to China next week, will enjoy normal press freedoms as outlined in international human rights treaties; if not why not?’

Best we do, BB.
Because it is not about suppressing freedom of speech – get on the loudhailer as often as you want an put out as many media releases as you want, and th law won’t intervene.
Your concerns try to equate “freedom of advertising” with freedom of speech”. They are different things. A level playing field in an election campaign cannot permit the parties with wealthy supporters to be able to promote, because of their wealth, their political principles to a greater degree (whether directly or by proxy) than those Parties with less wealthy supporters.
Otherwise, BB, you head down the Zimbabwe track. Mind you, the current election there may have finally put an end to that (toad optimism).
But don’t be surprised if martial law is declared and Mugabe is reinstated as President in the interests of “stability”, regardless of the election result (toad pessimism).
