Burmese pythons colonise Texas
USA Today reports:
As climate change warms the nation, giant Burmese pythons could colonize one-third of the USA, from San Francisco across the Southwest, Texas and the South and up north along the Virginia coast, according to U.S. Geological Survey maps released Wednesday.
Poor George Bush; just when he is about to lose his Washington DC house and will need to more back to Texas. I wonder what his view on climate change when one of those pythons makes its way across his porch first thing in the morning?

Frog should consider reading “Legacy of Heorot” by Niven, Pournelle and Barnes. Just for the description of the frogs. The story line isn’t all that flash. Ecological disasters have a lot of different ways of happening and the outline for the story is pretty predictable once the protagonists are identified.
But the Frogs are something else.
