Yes it’s frog week, I’ve been too busy partying to let you know about it, but check out the DOC site for what’s happening in the rest of the week or drop the green party a line to find out what they’re doing to protect my green kin.
It is a week for celebrating all things froggy, so here are a few of my favourite frogs.

Don’t mess with Goliath. He’s over half a meter long including his legs and weighs over 3 kg!

This is my mate barry. he likes to help mice out now and then. He’s a real hero.
and finally, a true green hero, Kermit himself singing what should, in my opinion, be the party anthem…

Well, next year is international year of the frog http://www.amphibianark.org/yearofthefrog.htm and potato http://www.potato2008.org/.
Since Crop & Food NZ are making GE potatoes with toad genes in them, there may be a nice (genetic) synergy. The year of the Potoado?

Nah, next year is the Chinese Year of the Rat. From the look of the third picture, someone’s working on a frog/rodent hybrid.
Frodent?
