Voting has opened for the 2006 NetGuide Web Awards, which will be announced on 6 April. In previous years, the awards have been decided by a panel of judges – first NetGuide staff, then New Zealand experts, then international experts as the Internet grew in popularity. This year, for the first time, the awards are 100% decided by the public – hence they are the People’s Choice NetGuide awards.
Not that I’m telling how to vote or anything, but you could always, you know, hook a frog up…
Frogblog is eligible for the Best Blog category, and the Green Party home site could also be voted for in one of the other categories.

As long as the votes are NOT tallied by electronic machines, provided by companies pledged to deliver votes to the candidates who will give the most benefits to their corporate/private profits, it sounds vagely democratic.
If all parties have equal means and balanced exposure to explain their worthiness, then we are approaching the ideal!

I’m not voting, but if I were, I couldn’t wtih a clear concience vote for the Frog, post election this pond is far too quiet, days go by without new and relevant topics arriving.

Sorry but I can’t vote for No Right Turn, no matter how good the content is until the site design is better – its not just the dull and clunky colours + layout – the main thing is the speed that it takes to load the pages, it oh so often hangs and leaves you waiting frustrated. It is clear that the problem lies in all the dynamic content in the left-hand column – frequently you have to wait 30 seconds for the javascript that gets the blog ecosystem result to load. An easy solution to this would be to move the left-hand column to a right-hand column, then the site content comes first in the page and the column is an afterthought. cheers and no offence, the content on No Right Turn IS really good.
