This tribute/reaction is worth a read - it's from Rob Hosking, one of the Parliamentary press gallery (freelance journalist, specialising in economics, regulatory issues, and finance).

I think it is worth mentioning that many of the 300+ heartfelt tributes in the main condolences book thread are from journalists, (as well as being from across the political spectrum), no doubt many of whom got phoned up by Rod all the time.

Here a link to a video of a 12 minute TV appearance Rod did
in Los Angeles, during his trip here in 2003. It has him explaining to
an American audience how proportional works, as well offering a Green
perspective on U.S. foreign policy.

Dear Frog and pondmates,

thank stuff-ites from greenies, Dompost did pretty well this morning too, but nice to have e-pictures released as well. Rod always photographed well! The photo of him holding the Tibetan flag on the Parliament steps will be one of my most abiding memories.

I'm sick with viral nasties, saw the paper at the Dr's waiting room & was very glad I'd taken a big box of tissues with me. Hope the supplies are holding out in the office, big hugs to you all 'cos i won't come near 'til I'm over the 'fluey thing.

Kia kaha, arohanui kia katoa, ka tiimata te mahi noa.
