Rod’s funeral
A funeral service for Green Party Co-Leader Rod Donald will be held in Christchurch on Thursday.
The ceremony, which will be open to the public, will be held at the Christchurch Cathedral, in Cathedral Square, at 10.30am.
It will be followed by a private burial.
UPDATE: You can watch the service over the Internet — TVNZ are going to provide live streaming video of the funeral (from their politics page). There will also be a number of other events happening nationwide - see the list of celebratory events.

My condolences to Rod’s wife, family and to all those affected by this absolute tragedy. I havent spoken to anyone yet not stunned and shocked by the news. Rod’s passing will be a sad loss for NZ.
Rod’s presence/profile in this latest political campaign inspired me and I am sure many others to move and think about “making a difference”. Not only his committment, his dedication and his quiet determination inspired me but his ability to convey/ impart this in a credible, articulate and well-reasoned manner.
Rest in peace Rod…..You will be missed

The celebration service of Rods life was beautiful with many moving (and at times funny) tributes. Absolutely packed with hundreds more outside listening in on a gloriously sunny day. I do believe it was the first time for Pink Floyd to be heard over the cathedrals PA syste…(Wish you were here, Shine on you crazy diamond and Time).
