It’s nice of the Dominion Post to call Labour’s transport policy a “Green Party-look-alike” and “a watered-down version of the Green Party’s transport policy”.
The Greens have had a significant influence on transport policy over the past three years, which has seen very large increases in the public transport and overall transport budgets. We’re looking forward to have similar influence over the next three years – pushing Labour hard on further increases in public transport spending and on developing alternatives to petrol. As Jeanette has said, Labour is moving in the right direction on transport, but it needs to be bolder.

Peter, nothing in the whole Peak Oil scenario could make me happier than the thought of you in a V8, as petrol prices climb up to and beyond $2. It will hit me in the pocket too, but the thought of you spending over a hundred bucks each and every time you fill up will still put a smile on my face.
Have fun burning your wages in that Auckland congestion.

newsflash from america that i reported on today tells us riding cycles causes erectile dysfunction in males..(it’s all to do with those pointy seats..really..!..i’ve never liked them..too pointy..eh..?)
so if we don’t immediatly stop all green males from dysfunctioning their erectiles..we could die out in a generation…

I agree. I have just started ridiing every where again. The pointy seat has to go!!! (ouch)
ps.
peter If you want to keep the v8, then I think the greens are your best hope, because as the price of oil goes up, if theres an alternative for the rest of us, that might lower the demand and reduce prices a bit for you v8 drivers out there. (Of course it will still be in excess of $2.)
